We've offered many different learning vacations in the past...and new ones are "in the works" for the future. Some of our most popular programs have come at the suggestion of an individual or the request of an institution, so please call us with your thoughts, questions and interests. We produce each of our programs from the first seed of the idea, and we delight in each creation that offers the promise of fun and learning in the realms of natural and cultural history in the American Southwest and Mexico. Every now and then, the old ones are repeated.  Piet & Mary Van de Mark

Programs you may remember that are not currently scheduled include...

A Taste of Oaxaca with Chef Janos Wilder

Baja's Backroads & Hidden Places - Geology & Botany of the Central Baja Peninsula

    Navajo Trading Posts

    Canyon de Chelly

The Birds of Bosque Del Apache

    Tucson Public Art

    Native American Storytelling

    Hopi Arts & Culture

Georgia O'Keeffe Country: Arts & Artistry of Northern New Mexico

    Treasures of the Sierra Madre

California Bloomin' - Botanical Gardens of Southern California

These programs and others like them may be repeated in the future. Please let us know of your interests.

Some of our best ideas for learning vacations come from YOU!

Many other very memorable programs are co-sponsored with the world-famous Arizona-Sonora Desert Museum for their members and friends. Learn more about ASDM by visiting this wonderful wildlife and botanical garden, and by exploring their website.

Tucson’s Native Seeds/SEARCH conserves, distributes and documents the adapted and diverse varieties of agricultural seeds, their wild relatives and the role these seeds play in cultures of the American Southwest and Mexico. We have joined with them in celebrating the Tarahumara people of Copper Canyon and others of northwest Mexico with founders Barney Burns & Mahina Drees, the cuisine of Oaxaca with famed Tucson chef Janos Wilder, and enjoyed the Seeds of Hopi Art & Culture with Emory Sekaquaptewa. What would you like to experience next time?
