Tens-of-thousands of migratory waterfowl flock to this sanctuary every winter. Vast numbers of snow geese drift through the skies over Bosque del Apache in central New Mexico’s Rio Grande valley. Sandhill cranes by the thousands, a countless diversity of migrating ducks, bald eagles, hawks, falcons and even a tiny population of endangered whooping cranes visit the refuge annually. We’ll help you learn to recognize the many species of waterfowl and raptors you’ll see. A photographer’s delight! Fully escorted by Mary Erickson and Piet Van de Mark, this easy-going program requires almost no walking...just sit back and enjoy the scenery...and the birds! The trip fee includes all transportation in comfortable new passenger vans, admissions, tour of Bosque del Apache and pleasant overnight accommodations.
